On the 25th of February 2015, the Cyprus Human Resource Management Association (CyHRMA) in collaboration with the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) organised an open lecture titled “Time Management Techniques”. The lecture was one of a series of lectures organised within the framework of the established collaboration between the CyHRMA and the CUT. The lecture took place at the University’s premises with great success and the participants were mainly University students, young graduates and unemployed people.
The lecture speakers were Mrs. Monica Potsou and Mrs. Nastasia Michael, both members of the CyHRMA and the Limassol and Paphos CyHRMA Committee. The presentation started with a general introduction about time and its meaning, as well as the advantages of effective time management. Specifically, the participants were taken through the basic steps they should take in order to manage their time effectively.
Examples of different time wasters were given and the way these can affect our lives. Moreover, the trainers analysed the SMART principle for setting goals and provided the participants with some useful tips on goal setting and planning.
Furthermore, the participants were provided with some useful tips on how to get prepared for a job interview and how to manage their time while job searching.
Conclusively, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions on various issues of their concern and followed by an interesting discussion on the topic.
