On Wednesday June 30th, 2021 in the presence of 26 Members, the Annual General Meeting of our Association was held at Journalists House, in Nicosia.
The Annual General Meeting was commenced by Mrs. Elena Stavrinou and the Minutes of the previous General Meeting of 2020 were approved by all the present members.
An account of the events and activities of the period June 2020 – June 2021 followed, presented by the president, Mr. Panayiotis Thrasyvoulou. Mr. Thrasyvoulou referred to the Members of the Association, which now amount to 593 compared to 616 in 2020.

Then, he referred to the Association’s actions for the 30 years that including a presentation entitled “The moment of HR is here. Are we ready? Also, in the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility, a participation was made in a ΤV-game where its proceeds were donated to charity. The aim is to promote the above mentioned actions, but also the important work the Association has done in the last 30 years in various media (television, radio, magazines, social networks). The finale of the events will be sealed at the end of the year with a formal gala dinner.
Next, the Association took part in the largest HR survey titled “Creating People Advantage survey”, where its results were presented by the CIPD.
Μr. Thrasyvoulou referred to the new logo of the Association, emphasizing the effort to upgrade the new image of the Association and present the modern and fresher look.
Finally, he expressed his gratitude as it was his last term on the Board of Directors and that he is proud of what the Board has achieved. He thanked the Members of the Board for their cooperation and welcomed the New Board Members, wishing them to continue the good work in the Association with the same zeal.
Next, the Treasurer of the Association, Mr Marios Christoforou, presented the audited financial accounts for 2020 and these were approved by the present Members. Mr. Christoforou mentioned that on the view of the Financial Statements, since there was a decrease in income, cash as well as surplus, due to the pandemic, it was not possible to hold the Annual Conference which offers financial benefits to the Association. Nevertheless, he considered that the Association’s financial condition finances of the Association is “healthy”, and it must be taken into account that in recent years there has been an increase in revenues.
Additionally, the Association renewed the agreement with the existing auditors, Mr. Demetris Demetriades and Mr. Gregoris Demetriou for one more year (financial audit period 01/01/2021 – 31/12/2021) and this was also approved by the present Members.
The revised articles (Article 8ζ and Article 12) of the Constitution of the Association with Ms. Elena Stavrinou were followed and these changes were unanimously approved by the participants.
Lastly, the election of the New Board of Directors took place, and Mrs. Elena Stavrinou informed all present members, that no elections were held since 9 valid nominations were received, as many of the positions of the Board. Candidates who have been elected as Members of the Board for the period 2021 – 2023 are:
Agrotou Eleana, Christoforou Marios, Georgiou Maria, Hadjivassiliou Irena, Matsouka Elli, Neophytou Athena, Spyrides Maria, Stavrinou Elena, Tsolaki-Patsali Christina.
To conclude, the Members of the Board of Directors thanked the Members of the Association who participated in the Annual General Meeting and cocktail followed.
